Online Shopping Tips and Spending Advice
Buying products online can mean that you can save time by getting shopping items send directly to our home. We put together these shopping tips to help you save money when shopping online. You may have not realised already that there are tonnes of ways to save money by using internet stores instead of the high street so now is the time to take some spending advice before you embark on your next shopping experience.
Use a Price Comparison Website
Price comparison websites have become one of the greatest and most significant ways that we have been able to control what we want to pay.
By simply comparing products on one website, with another similar site selling the same product, we can save money shopping online at various outlets without so much as having to visit the store first to do 'research'.
You will find one to try in the yellow banner at the bottom of this page, when you see the 'search' box simply type what you are looking for and voila!
These are modern times and price comparison sites such as Pricerunner and Kelkoo provide you with the tool to find the most suitable product, hopefully within your budget.
Don't be fooled into using just one site for your research though – try two or three. The reason is that they may partner with certain online retailers and receive commission on sales, which is great if you can find what you're looking for, though you still might find your item/s cheaper by using a different comparison site because just one site will simply not feature all of the same retailers. Plus, they change their merchants regularly and contain a huge variety of different retailers.
An interesting shopping tip would be to advise you to shop around your chosen two or three as using just one, you will probably find that they can't possibly add every website to their list
Find Discount Codes
Savvy spending advice when trying to save money shopping online is to use discount codes in order to get your chosen item at a reduced rate.
Spend a little time, once you've found the item at a price you want to pay, checking if that retailer ever offers discount (or voucher or promotional) codes on their website. If they do, you might choose to search various discount code websites to find a code to use.
The codes are often entered when paying at the checkout. Some will give you 10% off you whole order or 20% off if you spend a specified amount, or some will simply give you free delivery or a free gift. Online shopping retailers often use codes as a way to attract you to their site, a very good choice for them and you can save money shopping online this way – sometimes you can save on your shopping and then obtain loyalty card points – especially with retailers like Tesco, Boots and Sainsbury's.
