By simply learning a little about where you are going and taking notes of any regulations that you need to be aware of, you can prepare yourself and know that your holiday will be fab. Its important you take advice, not just so that you can relax and have a great time, but so that you can be safe. We hear so many horror stories in the press and we're sure you don't want to headline in the daily national news.
Travel Insurance
It's a must to have insurance when you travel. Regardless of your holiday destination you need to be insured despite the fact you may think that you don't need it - you do, and it's important to keep your insurance documents and emergency telephone numbers with you at all times.
Emergency Telephone Numbers
Make a note of any 24 hour telephone numbers to call in case of emergency, ensuring you list the country access code (deduct the '0' - the country code for the UK is 0044). Where you see a +44 on your paperwork, replace the '+' with '00'. So if your insurance emergency helpline is 08451 23456, you will dial '0044 8451 234567' when you are outside the UK.
